Park Place Cinemas Reopening Delayed; Opening Expected Any Day
The downtown Charleston theater is in its final setup stages, with management asking the community to stay tuned just a little bit longer.

CHARLESTON, WV — Park Place Cinemas is asking the community to stay tuned just a little bit longer. While the theater is in its final reopening setup, management has made the difficult decision to push back the official start date by a few days to navigate the final stages of the process.
The revival of the downtown landmark has been a labor of love, though the final stretch has presented a few technical challenges. Michael Tawney, representing the theater's leadership, noted that the decision to delay was made to ensure the best possible experience for the first wave of guests.
"We've had some bumps in the road during these final stages," said Michael Tawney. "It was a difficult decision to delay the opening of Park Place by a few days, but we want to make sure everything is exactly where it needs to be when we welcome the community back."
The theater is fully staffed and prepared to launch. Management expects the doors to open "any day now," bringing first-run films and a fresh entertainment hub back to the heart of Charleston.
"We are incredibly grateful for the excitement and patience the city has shown us," Robert Faulkner added. "We are so close to the finish line, and we can't wait to see everyone in their seats very soon."
Updates regarding the official opening hour and showtimes will be posted immediately to the theater's digital platforms. Fans are encouraged to refresh the website and follow social media for the "green light" announcement:
