Street Art Revolution: Murals Transform Downtown Huntington
Over 20 new murals have appeared across the city's downtown district in a bold public art initiative
Huntington's downtown is getting a vivid makeover. Through the "Walls Alive" initiative, more than 20 large-scale murals have been commissioned from both local and national artists, transforming blank walls into open-air galleries.
The Artists
The project features a mix of WV-born talent and renowned muralists from across the country. Each piece tells a story connected to Huntington's history, culture, or natural beauty.
Community Response
Local businesses report increased foot traffic since the murals began appearing. "People are coming downtown just to take photos," says coffee shop owner Derek Vance. "It's brought new energy to the whole neighborhood."
A self-guided mural walking tour map is available at the Huntington Visitors Center.
